About the Sales and Marketing Manager position

We are looking for a TWO (2) high-performing Sales and Marketing Manager to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company customer-centered towards a reality where "Every customer is a raving fan".

You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those plans to upper management. You will ensure great customer support operations, maximize subscription payments, and develop as well as enforce comprehensive debt recovery strategies.

One of the positions is Sales-HEAVY: it is focused on our INUMA(TM) minigrid product, which delivers safely piped water to homes at a super affordable cost. Experience selling FMCG and other low cost high volume items across several sales region is a requirement for this position!

The other position is focused on our amazi.rw and UHIRA product lines, which are higher cost and lower volume. Experience running marketing campaigns, and capturing market share in a small and defined customer will be essential!

For all the positions, you need tp be able to maintain focus on the individual customers while managing a growing customer base. So data skills. and relying on analytics to develop precise insights are essential for both positions.

Key Result Areas

1. CRM Systems: set up, update, automate and maintains a comprehensive customer relationship management system that empowers CRM officers with an efficient CRM Software(s) and processes. Keeps the CRM systems friendly and maintains accurate and useful customer records.

2. Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through strategic and tactical interventions to meet set income targets on company products with particular focus on assigned product(s). Analyze data to gain insights into customer behavior, preferences, trends, and outliers followed by quick piloting of ideas.

3. Collections: Collect revenues from customers, including those financed, sending reminders as needed and implementing debt recovery procedures. Propose strategies to improve income collection.

4. Leading Customer Engagement: Lead swift and complete sales processes that lead to positive customer engagement. Build and maintain relationships with customers to achieve individual customer growth and low churn rates through conventional and innovative means.

5. Customer Support: Monitor the call center operations to provide exceptional customer support to all current and prospective customers. This includes resolving inquiries and complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner, escalating/executing quickly as needed.

Sales Manager responsibilities are:

  • Maintain a "Closer" attitude with self and team, ensuring that a maximum of customer engagement lead to a contract/sale.

  • Regularly reviews customer and sales-related data to gain insights and take decisive action in pursuit of sales growth.

  • Able to successfully manage a large sales team. Hire, train. motivate and empower the sales team to perform their duties and achieve set targets. Handles HR duties for the sales team, preparing contracts, warning letters, bonuses, terminations, etc.

  • Implementing strategies to boost sales and grow revenue. This includes widening the customer base, improving consumption, and innovative sales techniques among many strategies.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive income collection and debt recovery strategies, ensuring effective collection of dues while maintaining positive customer relationships.

  • Use advanced data analysis techniques to gain deep insights into customer behavior and market trends, informing strategic decision-making.

  • Develop the skills and capabilities of the CRM team through targeted training programs, well developed script and systems, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Tracks, and grows retention rate by developing a comprehensive customer retention strategy, including loyalty programs or personalized marketing campaigns.

  • Builds rapport with customers. Attends meetings with clients.

  • Being fully aware of the products and services and identifying competition

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a unified approach to customer relationship management across the organization.

  • Keeps the system working and adapts next-gen capabilities: Evaluate innovative technologies and software solutions to enhance CRM activities and improve customer service.

  • Undertakes field trips as need to evaluate sales team and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • BA/BSc or Asc degree in Marketing, Business or other related field (convince us)

  • Can entertain sales conversations in the following languages: Kinyarwanda, English, Swahili, and French.
